A critical poll - which of the following do you agree with?

Have you experienced any problems with Learnit lists? Please tell us here:

Over the weekend we ran a poll to try to see what usability issues we may face. The obvious, and fundamental, flaw of this survey was that it was only available to people who clicked on the poll button. We are waiting for a redesign and will put the gadget on the left of the page, and the poll on the top right of the home page.

Only 45% of users agreed that Learnit was ‘easy to use’ or that they had no problems with it. 13% told us it needs redesigning, and 12% said that the buttons were confusing. From the ‘other’ category, many users requested sound (again), a test function, a PDF of their daily words, and grammatical info to be available. As soon as we generate some income, we will be able to add all of these.

Features we have added over the weekend - you can now select your own password, for new visitors there is a ’start’ button on the top left of the Learnit gadget to make registration easier, and you can choose to have no text on the buttons if you prefer. We need to create a lost password option - such as ‘email me a new password’. The most exciting thing to happen for a while was discovering last night that it might be possible to use the virtual model to read out each individual’s daily word list… we are figuring out how it could be priced in order to cover the costs of the license and downloads.

    its a great idea!!!!
its perfect for me because of english - tagalog - one of the very rare sources! but on iphone the text is much to small to read or to exercise! maybe it would be much better to do it word by word (on mac theres a software called unilingua with a great userinterface) or maximum 5 words in landscape to see them both (english and tagalog)

    Hi Glynn,

If you cannot afford to pay for the speaking avatar - you can listen to the user records free of charge. Also, if you record your words in your native language, you will get some credits to use with the speaking avatars.
